Exceeding Youth Stars is a youth-led social participation and engagement provision, focusing on the holistic development of young people. For us, youth engagement & participation is vital, a key aspect surrounding all the work we do. We aim to support transitional changes varying from education, adulthood, training & employment as well as citizenship.  At ERS empowering young people to become active members of their community will not only contribute to the development of the community but also the social and psychological development of the youth and adults involved.

 

A paper by M. A. Brennan PhD & Rosemary V. Barnett PhD (2009), explored how youth engagement helped achieve mastery in social competence, problem-solving, autonomy, and sense of purpose.

Furthermore, through youth engagement and participation, young people can become empowered to be problem solvers, decision-makers, and committed leaders who will lead community development efforts in the future. Our organisation provides a voice for commonly under-represented youth, for matters that are important to them.
